How to Download Embedded Videos

If you’re browsing online and you see an embedded video on one of the websites that you’re on, you can pull the embedded video from the website and save it directly to your PC. The best way to download embedded videos is to use a chrome extension. Along with this, there are plenty of online tools that will allow you to download videos from the embed code. This will grab the embed code and it’ll pull the videos from it and you’ll be able to download it.

Download Video From Embed Code

Some embedded videos that you find on websites aren’t hosted on popular platforms like Youtube or video, but they’re just hosted by the website themselves. In this case, the only way to download this embedded video is by downloading it from the embed code. Using the embed code means that you can download any embedded video from any website just by using Chromes developer tools. Every embedded video on a website has a link that takes you to the video file, from here, you can literally right click and save the video. This means that you don’t have to use any online tools to download it. To download a video from its embed link:

  1. Go to the website the video is on.

  2. Right-click on the video and select Inspect. Or press F12, or Ctrl + Shift + i.

  3. Select Network in the tabs above.

  4. Select the play button on the video once you’re in Network. After pressing play, you should see a bunch of scripts running.

  5. In the white search bar that says filter, search up MP4.

  6. Look for the files that say File.mp4. There might be a few.

  7. Right-click on the embed link that says file.mp4 and Open in a New Tab. If there are loads of files with the name File.mp4, then you need to open all of them to find the embedded video that you’re looking for.

  8. Once you’re in the new tap and you’ve found the right mp4 video, right-click and select Save Video as. Now the video would have downloaded to your PC just by you using the embed code.

Download with Flash Video Downloader

The best way to download an embedded video from a website is by using a Chrome extension called Flash Video Downloader. This extension detects the media on the page and downloads the video to your files. How to download embedded video: If this method didn’t work or the extension didn’t detect the video, you can open a new tab and load the web page again – the extension should detect the video on the page after doing this.

Download with Savefrom

Most embedded videos are YouTube videos and you’ll know this if you can see the red play button on the video. The next way to download a video from a website is to change the URL of the YouTube video and download the video with savefrom – this is a good method if you don’t use the Chrome browser. You can also use this method to download embedded videos to your iPhone and Android. This method only works if the embedded video is from YouTube – this is the case 90% of the time. If the video isn’t from YouTube, you can use another method below.

Download with Clipconverter

Clipconverter allows you to download YouTube videos just by pasting the URL into the search box. Since most embedded videos are YouTube videos, this method should work fine for you.

Download with DownloadHelper

The next method that you can use to download an embedded video is by using an extension called DownloadHelper. This does the same job as the extension above. If you try and use this plugin to download a YouTube video on Chrome, you won’t be able to do this. If the video isn’t by YouTube, you will be able to download it – you can only download YouTube videos if you use the extension in Firefox.

How to Download Embedded Videos on Your Phone

If you have a mobile device, then you may be wondering how to download embedded videos from websites on either device. If you are on a website on your iPhone or Android and you’re wondering how you’ll be able to download an embedded video, there are many ways to do it. If you have a PC, it’s best that you visit the website on your PC to download it there since it’s a lot simpler, but you can still download it straight on your device.

Download with Clipconverter

Clipconverter allows you to download YouTube videos just by pasting the URL into the search box. If you have an Android or iPhone, this is the best way to save embedded videos straight to your device. Since most embedded videos are YouTube videos, this method should work fine for you.

Download Embedded Videos Using Savefrom.net

Another method that you can use to download embedded videos on your Android or iPhone is to use a web software called savefrom.net. This is a video downloader tool that you can use to download embedded videos that you’ve found on websites. It also allows you to download embedded videos that you’ve found on social sites like Facebook.

  1. Click the share button on the embedded video

  2. Click on more and you’ll be taken to the actual YouTube video

  3. Copy the YouTube videos URL

  4. Tap on Copy Link.

  5. Go to savefrom.net in your browser. This site will help you download the video from Facebook. The site supports other platforms as well like Vimeo, Twitter, Instagram, and more.

  6. Paste the video URL. This should be the link to the video that you saved. The lower portion of the input bar will load and show you a thumbnail of the associated video on the link. It should look like the exact video that you saved and wanted to download.

  7. Click on Download MP4. This will be a green button. After you’ve clicked on the download button, the download will automatically start. Once the download is complete, all that’s left to do is to open up your gallery or your download folder to access the video you just downloaded. Usually, the file name with a .mp4 extension is seen on your notification tray which you can also use to directly access the file from its save directory.

Y2Mate Downloader

Another way that you can download embedded videos to your Android or iPhone is to use Y2Mate is a web-based downloader that works well with YouTube, Vimeo, and other video sources.  Most embedded videos on websites are either from YouTube and to find this out, you just need to click on the embedded video and check which platform’s user interface it has. You only need to secure the URL of the video you’re watching and place it on the input bar. You can also do a search for an associated keyword and it will pull up some results below the input bar.
